I’m not a fan of the Rude Pundit, as a rule, because I find him grotesquely crude (I take it “rude” is his eupehmism for that), and far too often sexist if not downright misogynist (see this, for example — or don’t since it’s pretty graphic).

But he surprised me with his post of June 2 about Hillary supporters. Yes, he calls them unreasonable, but (correct me if I’m wrong), it looks to me like he actually went to great pains to avoid using sexist insults and stereotypes while doing so, and le’s face it he could’ve had a field day with negative stereotypes about “unreasonable” women. But he didn’t. Instead he offers a lovely olive branch in the form of good advice:

We who support Obama cannot take this rage for granted. Surely, Obama has his work cut out for him in reaching out to Clinton supporters, when he secures the majority of the delegates. When that moment comes, though, it’s incumbent upon us, the Obama supporters in Left Blogsylvania, to offer comfort to Clinton’s most rabid acolytes and give them another place to call home.

I’d like to see the softer side of Rude a lot more often, wouldn’t you?
