A little play on words, of course. In actuality, I am not in fact a misandrist (aka man-hater). I do, however, hate sexists and unfortunately, a good many (but by no means all ) sexists are men. So you can see why some people — especially men — get confused on the subject.
I will also admit that I am still, after all these years (all these years = since my consciousness got raised back in the 1970s), quite, QUITE angry with men as a class and when you really think about it, that’s quite sane. After all, men are the oppressor. Not ALL men, you say? Well, pretty much, yeah. All men benefit, without exception, and not damn near enough of them bother to notice that or the wealth of all that unearned benefit that accrues to them, let alone try to change things on behalf of the 51% of the human race who do NOT benefit but in fact are harmed by the unearned benefit all men reap.
You’d be angry too. And if you’re not, you’re either not male, or don’t really understand how it works, or have turned your anger inward and are instead depressed. Or maybe you’ve evolved spiritually well beyond all this in which case why are you reading THIS? Also in which case you are definitely my better, although forgive me if I remain skeptical on the subject of your spiritual evolution.
You should know right now that I’ll not suffer fools (read: sexists) in comments made to this blog. The only category of sexist men I’ll tolerate are the “educable” type, which are those who are genuinely interested in learning about sexism and misogyny and so they can personally do better. Damn few of those type men exist, in my experience. But posts of that type will be allowed to stay; other types are most likely be deleted unless they offer some entertainment value which will be defined on the moment, as subjectively as possible, by me. This is my space and I don’t feel any compunction to be fair in a world which is so unfair to women. Deal with it.
